Lancashire, 1934. A violent explosion at Liverpool docks leads a team of Pulp heroes into a conspiracy involving stolen naval technology, secret railways and a classified wartime project buried beneath the coast. Across four escalating acts and approximately 20–25 hours of play, the heroes must descend into forgotten infrastructure and stop the Black Tide Engine before its creators lose control of something they were never capable of understanding.
